General discussion • Stepper motors not turning

Hi everyone.
In the old workshop there were no problems with the plasma cnc table and the motors turning. After disassembly and reassembly in another workshop we have a very strange problem. The stepper motors will not turn when jogging from the mach3 software (https://www.oyostepper.es/).

We changed the cables and for the new setup he used a cat6 double shielded cable. We use 2 breakout boards: one for motor control, enable commands, X,Y,Z limit switches and one for controlling ARC on and thc control. Both breakout boards seem to be working. I can enable disable steppers, the limit switches are working (input ports are from the first breakout board) and I see that when I switch the limit switches manually. The enable command is sent using the output pin 14 of the first BB, the Z motor is connected to pins 4,5, the X motor to pin 67 and the Y to pins 8 and 9.

When I power the motors the motors are locked, when I press the Estop key the motors unlock, but when I jog I can see the modification of the X,Y,Z values in the mach GUI but the motors remain stationary. I have already changed: a) the breakout board, the stepper drivers, the lpt cables, the motors, changed the lpt ports. We use a software that monitors the lpt output and it seems that the output from mach3 is correctly going to the lpt port.

I really don't know what to do next, what to check. It could be that the cable I'm using is faulty, but I tested it with the motors directly connected to the driver with the same result. The weird thing is that all motors X,Y and Z have the same problem.

If anyone knows how to debug this problem it would be great.
