Yes the biological sensors in your finger will report upon touching a heat conductive surface that is above 37 Degrees Celsius as "hot", as the material you are made off will "boil" at just a few degrees above that. (remember boiling an egg on a hot surface!)
Your fingers are NOT suitable to determine the temperature of a working silicon device, which can works at far higher temperatures.
