I have reached a brick wall trying to load a Pico W with Micro Python. I plug in the pico holding down the boot select button which puts it into the correct mode, I then select micro python and it starts to load as the loading percentage changes until it reaches 100% it terminates and I then get
the following message"drive was removed without ejecting please use menu to eject". The pico W is still plugged in and I did not remove it. I have no idea what is happening and Micro python is not loaded to the pico. The same happens every time, I even brought a new Pico W as I though I had damaged the original, but the new one behaved in the same way.
I have no ideas what might be happening!! I am using a RPI 5 as the computer, I can see the pico w as file before I start and when it fails to load.
All the information seems to suggest it all should work without any problems. I have searched numerous forums and not found an answer.

It sounds as though it is working as designed.
Which specific .uf2 are you attempting to upload?
What tests have you done to reach that conclusion?Micro python is not loaded to the pico.
I recommend reading documentation like that provided by Raspberry Pi, and not making guesses about the behaviour you expect.
